The Belly Bandit Upsie Belly® Band is designed to provide extra support during pregnancy by gently lifting and redistributing the weight of your growing belly. This extra lift helps bring much needed relief to aching back muscles, while the secure fit around your hips can reduce pelvic pain by limiting mobility of your pelvic joints.
The Upsie Belly® belly band is ideal for women who are experiencing the common back aches, pelvic pain, and general discomfort associated with supporting a growing uterus. Help lessen the strain of pregnancy on your body and maintain muscle strength by using an Upsie Belly® to distribute the weight of your growing stomach and give your back a rest.
Very comfortable! The Upsie Belly® Maternity Support Band is covered with ultra-soft viscose from bamboo fabric. Featuring SecureStretch™ that molds perfectly to your body, it has up to 12” of adjustability. Top it off with our anti-dig closure and you’ve got one of the most comfortable maternity support bands ever invented.
We don’t recommend wearing the Upsie Belly® maternity support band in the postpartum period, as it’s specifically designed to help provide support during pregnancy. This support is focused on lifting your belly from below; post-delivery, your body needs a much higher level of support to help you recover and return to your normal routine. We recommend wearing belly wraps specifically designed for postpartum, since they offer that higher level of support to alleviate the discomforts of postpartum recovery.
If you’re wearing your Upsie Belly® Support Band against your skin, it’s best to wear looser-fitting tops that can flow over the band and not bunch up against it. If you’d like to hide your support band, then it’s also a good idea to try matching your clothing to the color of your band. The Belly Bandit Upsie Belly® black large support band is great for wearing with dark clothing, but the cream version may be a better choice if you’re pregnant during the summer and wearing light-colored tops and blouses.
If you’re wearing your support band over your clothes, then it’s best to wear snug-fitting tops and pants that are less likely to slide or bunch up uncomfortably underneath your band as you move around throughout the day.
No. The Upsie Belly® support band is intended to provide extra support during pregnancy, and is not designed to provide compression. Remember: You should never wear anything that compresses your belly while pregnant. If you’d like some maternity-specific compression items to help with pregnancy swelling, consider trying our Compression Ankle Socks or Belly Bandit® Maternity Compression Tights.
The best way to wash your Belly Bandit Upsie Belly® is to hand wash it in cold water, then lay it flat to dry. Do not bleach or iron your Upsie Belly® Support Band.
The main cause of back pain during pregnancy is a growing belly. Not only is there more weight for your body to support, but the size and position of your baby bump actually shifts your center of gravity. This means your back muscles are being pulled in new directions, plus they are supporting more weight than ever before. With so much to do, it’s no surprise that these muscles tire out, resulting in pain, stiffness and persistent aches.
You can start wearing the Upsie Belly® band as soon as you feel like you need the extra support! Some women’s bellies grow very quickly, while others may not feel the added pressure of an expanding belly until the end of their pregnancy. Belly Bandit’s Upsie Belly® is designed with 12” of adjustability so you can have support throughout your entire pregnancy.
